What is CVE-2017-9853?

SMA Solar Technology products, specifically their solar inverters, exhibit a notably weak password policy. The user and installer passwords lack complexity and length requirements, allowing vulnerable configurations. With a maximum password length of just 12 characters and a limited character set, strong password usage is impeded. This flaw increases the risk of unauthorized access, despite the vendor's claims regarding the effectiveness of their 12-character limit.
