What is CVE-2018-0224?

A command injection vulnerability exists in the Command Line Interface (CLI) of the Cisco StarOS operating system. This issue allows authenticated local attackers to inject malicious input, leading to the execution of arbitrary commands with root privileges. Exploiting this vulnerability requires authentication to the system and manipulation of vulnerable CLI commands. Successful exploitation could compromise the integrity and security of the affected Cisco ASR 5000 Series Aggregation Services Routers.
