What is CVE-2018-0252?

A vulnerability exists in the IPv4 fragment reassembly function of Cisco 3500, 5500, and 8500 Series Wireless LAN Controller Software. This flaw allows an unauthenticated, remote attacker to send malformed IPv4 fragments to the affected device, leading to corruption of its internal data structures. Consequently, this can cause the device to reload unexpectedly, resulting in a denial of service condition. The vulnerability impacts all software releases of the specified series up until the designated fixed versions.
