What is CVE-2018-1000654?

GNU Libtasn1 versions 4.12 and 4.13 are susceptible to a denial of service attack due to a flaw in the function _asn1_expand_object_id. When exploiting this vulnerability by parsing a crafted ASN.1 file using asn1Parser, CPU usage can spike to 100%, potentially leading to resource exhaustion and crashes. This vulnerability allows an attacker to manipulate system resources, causing the program to become unresponsive over time.
