Remote Code Execution Vulnerability in OpenShift by Red Hat
CVE-2018-1085
9CRITICAL
What is CVE-2018-1085?
In certain versions of OpenShift, specifically before 3.9.23 and 3.7.46, a misconfiguration in the etcd file disables SSL client certificate authentication. This misconfiguration allows remote users, who can access the etcd server on master nodes, to connect without authentication. An attacker exploiting this vulnerability could gain unauthorized access to read and modify the entire OpenShift cluster's data in the etcd datastore, enabling them to add compute nodes or disrupt cluster operations.
Affected Version(s)
openshift-ansible openshift-ansible 3.9.23-1
openshift-ansible openshift-ansible 3.7.46-1
