What is CVE-2018-1089?
The 389-ds-base application prior to versions 1.4.0.9, 1.3.8.1, and 1.3.6.15 contains a vulnerability that arises from mishandling long search filters with characters requiring escape sequences. This flaw can be exploited by a remote, unauthenticated attacker to execute carefully crafted LDAP requests that may cause the ns-slapd service to crash, leading to denial of service.
