Denial of Service in EN100 Ethernet Modules by Siemens
CVE-2018-11451

7.5HIGH

Summary

A vulnerability exists in various firmware versions of Siemens EN100 Ethernet module, which could lead to a Denial of Service condition. Attackers can exploit this by sending specially crafted packets to port 102/tcp, which requires the IEC 61850-MMS communication to be activated beforehand. Once exploited, the affected devices may need a manual restart to restore functionality. No user interaction or special privileges are required for an attacker to manipulate the vulnerable products, posing risks to the availability of the networked systems.
