What is CVE-2018-1162?

A vulnerability exists in Quest NetVault Backup 11.2.0.13 that allows remote attackers to exploit improper handling of Export requests. Despite the need for authentication, the flaw can be easily exploited due to weak validation of user-supplied paths. By taking advantage of this oversight, an attacker can overwrite files, leading to a denial-of-service situation for the targeted system.
