Summary

Apache Struts versions 2.3 to 2.3.34 and 2.5 to 2.5.16 are susceptible to remote code execution when the 'alwaysSelectFullNamespace' feature is enabled. This can occur through user input or plugins such as the Convention Plugin when results are utilized without a namespace, while the parent's package either lacks a namespace or uses a wildcard. A similar risk arises with the 'url' tag lacking both a value and action, under the same namespace conditions.

CISA Reported

CISA provides regional cyber and physical services to support security and resilience across the United States. CISA monitor the most dangerious vulnerabilities and have identifed as being exploited but is not known by the CISA to be used in ransomware campaigns. This is subject to change at pace

The CISA's recommendation is: Apply updates per vendor instructions.
