Denial of Service in Node.js Affecting Multiple Versions
CVE-2018-12121
7.5HIGH
What is CVE-2018-12121?
A Denial of Service vulnerability exists in Node.js that allows an attacker to exploit the server by sending numerous requests with maximum-sized HTTP headers, which can reach nearly 80 KB per connection. If the headers are precisely timed, it triggers a heap allocation failure, causing the HTTP server to abort. To minimize this risk, employing a load balancer or a proxy layer is recommended.
Affected Version(s)
Node.js All versions prior to Node.js 6.15.0, 8.14.0, 10.14.0 and 11.3.0
