What is CVE-2018-12543?

A vulnerability in Eclipse Mosquitto versions 1.5 through 1.5.2 allows an attacker to trigger an assert and crash the application by publishing a message to a topic that starts with '$', except for the reserved topic '$SYS'. This unexpected behavior can lead to a Denial of Service, effectively disrupting normal operations of the MQTT broker.
