What is CVE-2018-14357?

A significant security flaw was identified in Mutt prior to version 1.10.1 and NeoMutt before July 16, 2018. This vulnerability enables remote IMAP servers to execute arbitrary commands through crafted input using backquote characters, particularly associated with the mailboxes command that manages automatic subscriptions within the email clients. Exploitation of this flaw could lead to unauthorized actions being performed on the system, compromising its integrity.
