What is CVE-2018-16868?

A vulnerability in GnuTLS facilitates a Bleichenbacher type side-channel padding oracle attack during the RSA decryption verification process of PKCS#1 v1.5 data. An attacker, capable of executing processes on the same physical core as the vulnerable application, might exploit this flaw to recover plaintext data. Moreover, this issue poses a risk of downgrading any TLS connections to a server utilizing vulnerable versions of GnuTLS.
