What is CVE-2018-18714?
A stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability exists in the RegFilter.sys driver of IOBit Malware Fighter versions 6.2 and earlier. When an attacker sends a specially crafted IOCTL request (0x8006E010), it can trigger this overflow, potentially resulting in denial of service (DoS) or enabling the execution of arbitrary code at the level of the user with root privileges. This issue presents significant security risks, making it crucial for users to update to the latest version and implement appropriate security measures.
