What is CVE-2018-25289?

Softdisk 3.0.3 has a vulnerability in the registration code dialog that allows local attackers to exploit a buffer overflow by entering an oversized string. By inputting a 6000-byte payload in the Registration Name field via the Help menu's Enter Registration Code dialog, attackers can trigger a denial of service, causing the application to crash.
