What is CVE-2018-3959?
A use-after-free vulnerability exists in the JavaScript engine of Foxit PDF Reader, specifically in version 9.1.0.5096. This vulnerability can be exploited when an attacker tricks a user into opening a specially crafted malicious file. Additionally, if the browser plugin extension for Foxit PDF Reader is enabled, merely visiting an exploitative website could also activate the vulnerability. This allows for potential code execution, giving attackers unauthorized access to the system.
