What is CVE-2018-3997?
A use-after-free vulnerability exists within the JavaScript engine of Foxit PDF Reader, specifically in version 9.2.0.9297. When a specially crafted PDF document is processed, it can manipulate a recently freed object in memory, allowing for arbitrary code execution. Attackers can exploit this vulnerability by deceiving users into opening the malicious PDF, or, if the browser plugin is activated, by leading users to a compromised website that triggers the flaw.
