What is CVE-2018-5517?
The vulnerability allows for denial of service through the exploitation of malformed TCP packets directed at self IP addresses or FastL4 virtual servers on F5 BIG-IP devices. This issue can interrupt services running on the affected data plane virtual servers and self IPs, although the control plane remains unaffected. Users of BIG-IP versions 13.1.0 through 13.1.0.5 should be aware of this risk to ensure their systems are secured against potential attacks.
