What is CVE-2018-8947?
The Laravel Log Viewer before version 0.13.0 introduced a vulnerability that allows attackers to exploit the Base64 encoding used in certain requests (l, dl, del) to bypass access restrictions. This flaw can enable unauthorized users to read arbitrary files via a dl request, effectively compromising the integrity of the application. Developers are urged to update to version 0.13.0 or later to mitigate this risk.
Exploit Proof of Concept (PoC)
PoC code is written by security researchers to demonstrate the vulnerability can be exploited. PoC code is also a key component for weaponization which could lead to ransomware.
