What is CVE-2018-8992?
A vulnerability in Windows Optimization Master (version 7.99.13.604) allows local users to trigger a denial of service condition. This is achieved through the driver file WoptiHWDetect.SYS, which fails to properly validate input values from the IOCtl command 0xf1002005. Exploiting this flaw can lead to a blue screen of death (BSOD) or potentially allow for unspecified other impacts on the system.
