What is CVE-2018-9105?

NordVPN for macOS versions 3.3.10 and earlier contains a vulnerability that allows attackers to exploit an improperly secured XPC service within its privileged helper tool. This service, intended for processing OpenVPN connection requests, lacks appropriate validation, allowing an attacker to send a crafted XPC message. By exploiting this flaw, the attacker may direct the application to execute malicious code disguised as the OpenVPN executable, potentially leading to unauthorized access and control over the system.
