What is CVE-2019-1000009?

Helm ChartMuseum versions from 0.1.0 to 0.8.0 contain a path traversal vulnerability that allows an attacker to upload malicious chart archives outside the designated directory through the HTTP API. This vulnerability can be exploited by crafting a specific POST request to save the chart archive, which could lead to unauthorized access to sensitive files or system compromise. If authentication is enabled, the attacker must also be an authorized user to exploit this vulnerability. The issue has been addressed in version 0.8.1.
