Buffer Over-read Vulnerability in Suricata by Open Information Security Foundation
CVE-2019-10050
7.5HIGH
What is CVE-2019-10050?
A buffer over-read vulnerability exists in Suricata 4.1.x versions prior to 4.1.4. This flaw occurs in the decode-mpls.c function, where an attacker can exploit crafted input containing specific source and destination addresses and type fields. If manipulated correctly, the control flow can be altered, causing the function to exit a loop prematurely. As a result, subsequent operations attempt to read from an empty memory position, which can lead to a crash and disrupt normal network processing.
