What is CVE-2019-12147?

The web interface of Sangoma Session Border Controller version 2.3.23-119 GA is prone to an argument injection vulnerability due to improper handling of special characters in the username field. This flaw allows a remote, unauthenticated attacker to create a local system user with sudo privileges. Successfully exploiting this vulnerability gives the attacker the ability to log in to the system, either through the web interface or via SSH, potentially leading to a complete compromise of the device.
