What is CVE-2019-12170?

ATutor versions up to 2.2.4 are susceptible to an arbitrary file upload vulnerability that can be exploited through the mods/_core/backups/upload.php component. Attackers with instructor account privileges can upload a specially crafted backup ZIP file, leading to remote command execution. This vulnerability allows malicious users to write PHP files directly to the web root, enabling them to execute code on the compromised server. Immediate action is advisable to mitigate potential risks associated with this vulnerability.
