SQL Injection Vulnerability in REDCap by Vanderbilt University Medical Center
CVE-2019-14937
7.5HIGH
What is CVE-2019-14937?
In REDCap versions prior to 9.3.0, a time-based SQL injection vulnerability exists through the cal_id parameter in the edit calendar event feature. By utilizing specific payloads, such as cal_id=55 and sleep(3), an attacker can manipulate the Calendar/calendar_popup_ajax.php endpoint. This exploitation can lead to unauthorized access to user session identifiers stored in the database, enabling an attacker to log in to REDCap and potentially compromise sensitive data across the platform.
