XML Parsing Vulnerability in libexpat Affecting Multiple Distributions
CVE-2019-15903
7.5HIGH
What is CVE-2019-15903?
In versions of libexpat prior to 2.2.8, a vulnerability exists in how the XML parser handles DTD parsing. Maliciously crafted XML input could exploit the parser, causing it to switch from DTD to document parsing prematurely. Subsequent calls to obtain the current line or column number could lead to a buffer over-read, potentially compromising the integrity of the application using this library. Users are advised to upgrade to the latest version to mitigate this risk.
