Unbound Vulnerability Allows Remote Attackers to Trigger Crashes
CVE-2019-16866
7.5HIGH
What is CVE-2019-16866?
The Unbound DNS resolver, prior to version 1.9.4, contains a vulnerability that allows remote attackers to exploit uninitialized memory access. This can be triggered by sending a specially crafted NOTIFY query, provided that the source IP address aligns with the established access control rules. Such an action may lead to the application crashing, thereby potentially disrupting DNS service and affecting network integrity.
