What is CVE-2019-17044?
BMC Patrol Agent version 9.0.10i contains a local privilege escalation vulnerability stemming from weak execution permissions on the PatrolAgent SUID binary. This security flaw allows an attacker with 'patrol' access to elevate their privileges to root level. By crafting a malicious shared library file, an attacker can exploit the execution environment, leading to unauthorized access and control over the system.
