What is CVE-2019-17365?

Nix versions prior to 2.3 exhibit a vulnerability where the parent directory of user-profile directories is configured to be world writable. This misconfiguration permits local users to manipulate the directory, potentially allowing them to access and gain control over other users' profiles. By exploiting this permission flaw, an attacker can hijack arbitrary user accounts, leading to unauthorized access to sensitive information and system functionalities.
