Summary

The D-Link DIR-846 devices with firmware version 100A35 are susceptible to remote code execution due to improper input validation. Attackers can exploit this vulnerability by sending a crafted /HNAP1/ request containing shell metacharacters to the vulnerable control interface. Successful exploitation allows attackers to execute arbitrary OS commands with root privileges, thereby compromising the device's integrity and security.
