File Rename Filter Bypass in WBCE CMS by WBCE
CVE-2019-17575
7.2HIGH
What is CVE-2019-17575?
A vulnerability in WBCE CMS allows authenticated users with admin privileges to bypass the file-rename filter located in admin/media/rename.php. This exploit enables malicious users to rename media files and their extensions. For instance, a user could upload a file containing PHP code with a .jpg extension, then modify its name to a .ph extension. Due to the system's file handling, this would allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary PHP code on the server, leading to potential unauthorized access and control.
