Vulnerability in Zulip Server Affects User Account Security
CVE-2019-18933
9.8CRITICAL
What is CVE-2019-18933?
A security vulnerability in Zulip Server versions from 1.7.0 to just before 2.0.7 was identified, affecting organizations that enabled both social authentication (like GitHub and Google SSO) and traditional password authentication. This flaw allowed unprivileged attackers to potentially steal users' personal API keys during the signup process, granting unauthorized access to nearly all aspects of a user's account. Users who registered through social methods faced increased risks if their organization permitted password logins.
