What is CVE-2019-25337?

The ownCloud application version 8.1.8 is susceptible to a username enumeration vulnerability, enabling remote attackers to exploit the share.php endpoint. By issuing specifically crafted GET requests to /index.php/core/ajax/share.php with a wildcard search parameter, attackers can retrieve detailed information about user accounts. This flaw poses significant risks as it allows unauthorized individuals to identify valid usernames, potentially facilitating targeted attacks.
