R 3.4.4 for Windows x64 is susceptible to a buffer overflow vulnerability within the GUI Preferences language menu. This vulnerability enables local attackers to circumvent Data Execution Prevention (DEP) and Address Space Layout Randomization (ASLR) protections. By injecting a carefully crafted payload through the language settings, attackers can manipulate the structured exception handler chain, allowing them to execute arbitrary shellcode with the privileges of the application.
