What is CVE-2019-25604?
DVDXPlayer Pro 5.5 is susceptible to a local buffer overflow vulnerability that can be exploited by attackers to execute arbitrary code. By crafting malicious playlist files, specifically .plf files containing carefully designed shellcode and NOP sleds, attackers can overflow a buffer and manipulate the Structured Exception Handling (SEH) chain. This allows them to execute code with the same privileges as the application, posing serious risks to system security.
