What is CVE-2019-7214?

A deserialization vulnerability in the SmarterMail 16.x application, prior to build 6985, allows attackers to execute arbitrary commands on the server. This occurs when the application is exposed on port 17001, which is not remotely accessible by default in the patched version. Unauthenticated attackers can exploit this flaw to leverage unauthorized access if proper security measures, such as applying the latest updates, are not in place.
