What is CVE-2019-7630?

A security flaw exists in the gdrv.sys driver of Gigabyte APP Center before version 19.0227.1, which improperly manages access to the wrmsr instruction via IOCTL 0xC3502580. This oversight allows unauthorized writes to Model Specific Registers (MSR), potentially leading to unauthorized code execution at Ring-0, enabling attackers to escalate privileges and gain control over the system.
