CVE-2019-9848

Key Information:

What is CVE-2019-9848?

LibreOffice's ability to execute pre-installed scripts during document events can be exploited to trigger arbitrary Python commands. This occurs through the use of LibreLogo, which when called from document event handlers, can run untrusted scripts without user consent. Successfully crafted documents can lead to silent execution of harmful code. Fixed versions of LibreOffice restrict this feature, ensuring that LibreLogo cannot be activated through document event handlers. This issue impacts LibreOffice installations prior to version 6.2.5, emphasizing the need for timely updates to mitigate risks.

Affected Version(s)

LibreOffice < 6.2.5
