What is CVE-2020-0810?
An elevation of privilege vulnerability exists in the Diagnostics Hub Standard Collector and the Visual Studio Standard Collector, allowing file creation in arbitrary locations. To exploit this vulnerability, an attacker needs to be authenticated on the system. Once logged in, an attacker can execute a specially crafted application that takes advantage of the flaw, potentially gaining control over affected systems. The provided updates effectively prevent these collectors from creating files in unauthorized locations, enhancing the overall security of the products.
