What is CVE-2020-10126?

NCR SelfServ ATMs utilizing APTRA XFS 05.01.00 are susceptible to a vulnerability whereby the system fails to adequately validate software updates for the bunch note acceptor (BNA). An attacker with physical access to the ATM can manipulate the update process during boot by supplying CAB archives from removable media. This process executes specified files without verifying their signatures, thus enabling the attacker to restart the host computer and run arbitrary code with SYSTEM privileges, posing a significant risk to the integrity and security of ATM operations.
