What is CVE-2020-10140?
Acronis True Image 2021 contains a vulnerability due to improper access control list (ACL) settings in the C:\ProgramData\Acronis directory. This misconfiguration allows an unprivileged user to execute arbitrary code with SYSTEM privileges by placing a malicious DLL in specific paths within the directory. As a result, privileged processes that run from this directory may be at risk, potentially compromising the integrity and security of the system.
