What is CVE-2020-10232?

In versions prior to 4.8.0 of The Sleuth Kit, a stack buffer overflow vulnerability exists within the YAFFS file timestamp parsing. This flaw is present in the yaffsfs_istat() function located in fs/yaffs.c, which could potentially allow an attacker to exploit the overflow to execute arbitrary code or crash the application. Users of The Sleuth Kit are advised to upgrade to a patched version to mitigate risks associated with this vulnerability.
