Remote Code Execution Vulnerability in Responsive Filemanager by Trippo
CVE-2020-10567
9.8CRITICAL
What is CVE-2020-10567?
A vulnerability has been identified in Responsive Filemanager where insufficient validation of file extensions occurs in the ajax_calls.php file. Specifically, in the 'save_img' action, the application does not properly validate the 'name' parameter, allowing attackers to upload a JPEG image that includes malicious PHP code in its EXIF data. If the '.php' extension is used in the name parameter, this enables potential remote code execution, posing significant security risks. A quick mitigation strategy is to disable the 'save_img' action completely in the configuration file to prevent exploitation of this vulnerability.
