What is CVE-2020-10616?
The Opto 22 SoftPAC software, especially versions 9.6 and earlier, lacks proper validation for the paths of multiple imported .dll files. This oversight allows an attacker to exploit the vulnerability by replacing these files. If successfully replaced, the malicious code can execute automatically whenever the SoftPAC service starts, posing a significant security risk to systems that rely on this product.
