Digest Authentication Vulnerability in Squid Proxy by Squid Software
CVE-2020-11945
9.8CRITICAL
What is CVE-2020-11945?
A vulnerability in Squid Proxy before version 5.0.2 allows remote attackers to exploit a flaw in the Digest Authentication mechanism. By replaying a captured nonce, attackers may gain unauthorized access to restricted resources. This security lapse arises from the ability to overflow the nonce reference counter, leading to a situation where freed pooled token credentials might be misused for remote code execution.
