What is CVE-2020-12255?

The file upload functionality in rConfig 3.9.4 is susceptible to remote code execution. The vulnerability arises from a lack of thorough validation during file uploads. Specifically, the vendor.crud.php component permits file uploads while only checking the content-type, disregarding the file's actual extension and header. This oversight allows an attacker to upload a malicious .php file disguised as an image, potentially executing arbitrary PHP code on the server.
