What is CVE-2020-13512?

A privilege escalation vulnerability in the NZXT CAM software version 4.8.0 arises from improper handling of Privileged I/O Write IRPs in the WinRing0x64 driver. A low privilege user can exploit this vulnerability by sending a specially crafted I/O request packet (IRP), specifically the IRP with the identifier 0x9c40a0d8. This allows the attacker to gain unrestricted access to execute the OUT instruction at an elevated privilege level, effectively bypassing system security measures.
