What is CVE-2020-14079?
TRENDnet TEW-827DRU devices running firmware version up to 2.06B04 are susceptible to a stack-based buffer overflow. This vulnerability occurs in the ssi binary, where an authenticated user can exploit it by sending a specially crafted POST request to the apply.cgi endpoint with a long update_file_name parameter. Successful exploitation allows the execution of arbitrary code, potentially leading to a complete compromise of the affected device.
