What is CVE-2020-17429?
This vulnerability enables remote attackers to reveal sensitive information from affected versions of Foxit Studio Photo (3.6.6.922) by exploiting the improper handling of CMP files. Exploitation requires user interaction, as the target must be tricked into accessing a malicious webpage or opening a crafted file. The flaw arises from inadequate verification of user input, potentially leading to data leakage beyond the allocated buffer. When combined with other vulnerabilities, this issue could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code in the context of the affected process.
